Fam Med Forward 2020 Canceled

We have made the difficult decision to cancel Fam Med Forward this year.  After careful consideration and much discussion amongst the leadership, your Academy feels it is in the best interest of you and your fellow attendees, speakers and exhibitors to cancel the conference scheduled for June 4-6, 2020 in Manhattan, KS.  We are disappointed to take this action as we had an outstanding roster of CME lined up, important Academy business to take care of, as well as many opportunities for you to connect with your peers.  But we believe this is the right choice to make at this time as we face this healthcare crisis head on.

If you have already registered for Fam Med Forward 2020, please contact Michelle Corkins, mcorkins@kafponline.org, to make arrangements for your registration fees.

Q4: What does this mean for District Elections and Officer Elections?

The KAFP Board of Directors, working within the confines of our bylaws, have determined the current pandemic constitutes an emergency and have enacted emergency bylaws. These temporary bylaws allow the association business to continue. Part of that business includes conducting the elections of new leaders electronically. We’ll be hosting a Town Hall Meeting for the entire membership in May and will communicate with members about the elections, nominations from the floor and more in the coming weeks.
