The transition from residency to full time practice can be both exciting and stressful. To help our new physicians (those 7 years or fewer into practice post-residency), the KAFP is pleased to provide a benefit designed for graduating residents and new physicians. SUMMER TRAINING OPTION IN RURAL MEDICINE (STORM)<\/h2>

The Summer Training Option in Rural Medicine (STORM) is an elective rotation for medical students,
\r\nsponsored by ORME, the Departments of Family Medicine on the Kansas City and Wichita campuses
\r\nand other partners. The program is offered in the summer between the first and second years of
\r\nmedical school and is open to medical students from all three campuses.<\/p>

Ascension Via Christi Family Medicine Residency Program<\/div>
VCFM\u2019s experienced and enthusiastic faculty team provides full spectrum Family Medicine training including operative obstetrics, broad procedural training including endoscopy, and excellent experience in women\u2019s health and sports medicine with Sports Medicine Fellowship. We also offer international rotations for residents and an International Family Medicine Fellowship. Graduates are eligible for board certification in Family Medicine Obstetrics through our \u201cFellowship-Equivalent\u201d three-year residency program.<\/div><\/div>
