Grant Applications<\/h1><\/div><\/div>

The KAFP Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians with the mission to promote the philosophy of family medicine and education of family physicians, residents and medical students caring for Kansans. The Foundation works in partnership with KU School of Medicine, Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas family medicine residency programs and other organizations that share our vision and passion for support and service to family physicians of Kansas.<\/p><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” pix_particles_check=”” css=”.vc_custom_1775484915543{padding-top: 40px !important;background-color: #FFFFFF !important;}”][vc_column]

Funding Guidelines<\/div>
The Foundation only funds projects or programs within Kansas that further support its mission. The majority of funding for planned projects and programs funded are education-oriented with the purpose to encourage medical students to select family medicine as their specialty, assist residents in scholarly activities and build engagement with KAFP, or provide pertinent CME opportunities for Kansas family physicians in practice. The Board occasionally receives unsolicited requests for funds. For such grant requests the maximum amount funded will not exceed $1,000.<\/div><\/div>

Timeline<\/div>
<\/div><\/div>

The Foundation\u2019s Board of Trustees will consider unsolicited grant requests during its winter and summer meetings only. All requests must be submitted through the appropriate form on this timeline:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Submit by Oct. 1 for consideration at the winter meeting<\/li>\n
  • Submit by May 30 for consideration at the summer meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Applicants will be notified of their funding status within three months of application deadline.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>

    Restrictions<\/div>
    <\/div><\/div>

    The KAFP Foundation does not fund the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Requests from individuals, political, social or fraternal organizations<\/li>\n
    • Fund endowments, special events, arts or international programs<\/li>\n
    • Loans, startup expenses, or seed-capital funding for private businesses or scholarships requested by individuals<\/li>\n
    • Institutions that discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability or sexual orientation in policy or in practice<\/li>\n
    • Programs in furtherance of sectarian religious activities, impermissible lobbying, legislative or political activities<\/li>\n
    • Medical research, profit-making enterprises or programs targeted for people with a specific physical, medical or psychological condition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Indirect Costs<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The Foundation considers costs which are not in direct support of the grant to be indirect costs. Such indirect costs will not be funded in any grants funded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
