Fam Med Forward 2020 Canceled

We have made the difficult decision to cancel Fam Med Forward this year. KAFP feels it is in the best interest of you and your fellow speakers, attendees and exhibitors to cancel the conference scheduled for June 4-6, 2020 in Manhattan, KS. We are disappointed to take this action as we had an outstanding roster of CME lined up. But we believe this is the right choice to make at this time as we face this healthcare crisis head on.

First off, we want to THANK YOU for the time and energy you have put into preparing your presentation for June. We appreciate you volunteering to be on faculty, meeting deadlines for various forms, and your commitment to educating Kansas family physicians.

At this time, the KAFP staff team are brainstorming plans for alternative means of providing CME opportunities to our members virtually later this year. If you would like for your presentation to be considered for future CME (virtually or our 2021 conference), please email Michelle Corkins at mcorkins@kafponline.org.

2020 Speakers

Thank you for agreeing to serve as a speaker for KAFP’s 2020 annual conference, Fam Med Forward.  We value your contribution to our meeting.  If you have any questions about your presentation or participation, please contact Michelle Corkins.

Special focus on SDOH:  As you prepare for your presentation, please think about how Social Determents of Health (SDOH) plays into your topic.  We request that you include at least one slide in your presentation addressing how SDOH affects your topic.  For example, a speaker on congestive heart failure could include a slide about the higher cost of low-salt food and the difficulty for those of lower socioeconomic status to afford it.  Need help? We recommend that you explore the AAFP’s Everyone Project.  And feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.
