2026 KAFP Board DirectoryKAFP has elected its 2026 Board of Directors. This leadership team serves as KAFP’s governing body and will advocate on behalf of family physicians and patients throughout Kansas and the United States. The new board members join the 2025 board of directors as outlined below:PresidentBeth Oller, MD, FAAFP – EudoraDr. Beth Oller provides full-spectrum care and has a passion for women’s health, reproductive healthcare, and gender-affirming care. Her biggest adventure and joy in life is raising her four children Lyla, Maya, Merrick, and Noble. She enjoys serving the community outside of medicine and is on several area boards. Oller also serves as an Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics instructor, a media ambassador for the American Academy of Family Physicians, and adjunct faculty for the University of Kansas Medical Center– Wichita. President-ElectDoug Gruenbacher, MD – QuinterDr. Doug Gruenbacher is a provider at Gove County Medical Center. He specializes in family medicine and Obstetrics and practices alongside his wife Dr. Shelly Gruenbacher.TreasurerSandra Archer, MD – Overland ParkDr. Sandra Archer is a family medicine physician who has served in the Kansas City area for over 15 years. She currently works in value-based care and has served in RVU primary care, urgent care, and occupational medicine. She also worked as a chemical engineer in a previous career. Archer hopes to use her experiences to help KAFP and its members move family medicine forward. SecretarySabesan (Saby) Karuppiah, MD, MPH, FAAFP– Overland ParkDr. Sabesan “Saby” Karuppiah serves as the vice president and designated institutional official (DIO) for graduate medical education at HCA Healthcare in Kansas City and teaches evidence-based medicine at the Lee’s Summit Family Medicine residency program. Immediate Past PresidentKeith Ratzlaff, MD – OlatheDr. Keith Ratzlaff has served as an active Family Physician for more than 15 years and has served on a variety of boards and committees. Ratzlaff is a lifelong Kansan, born in Wichita, and has called Kansas City home for more than 25 years. Ratzlaff believes in supporting rural physician colleagues with tertiary specialties. At-large directors Jenna Ball, MD – Kansas CityDr. Jenna Ball is an attending physician at the University of Kansas Health System, where she cares for diverse patient populations and trains future physicians. A native of Hays, KS, she is passionate about advancing rural healthcare and advocating for underserved communities. John Feuerbacher, MD, FAAFP – WathenaDr. John Feuerbacher is a dedicated rural family physician who has spent his entire career providing comprehensive care – including outpatient, urgent, emergency, inpatient, and obstetrical services. He has held numerous hospital leadership roles, including Chief of Medicine, Medical Director, and President of the Medical Staff. Wesley Goodrich, DO, MPH - Valley CenterDr. Wesley Goodrich believes every person matters. He is dedicated to addressing not only the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions, but the mental and spiritual aspects as well. Dennis Jensen, MD, MHA, FAAFP - LenexaDr. Dennis Jensen serves as the Kansas and Missouri network medical director for Optum Health. He is a family physician and executive with more than 20 years of experience in primary care, health care operations and government payment programs. As a champion of value-based care, he educates and leads health care providers to become better healers through whole-person care centered on clinical excellence and patient engagement. Victoria Resendez, MD - Kansas CityDr. Victoria A. Resendez, MD is an Assistant Professor on the Clinical Scholar Track in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Resendez is committed to caring for vulnerable populations and aims to mentor underrepresented students and residents in medicine, empowering them to pursue careers in primary care and serve their communities, ultimately helping to reduce health disparities and improve equity in healthcare. She is passionate about maternal care and works with the complexities associated with underserved populations. Joseph Saffold, MD – WichitaDr. Joseph Saffold is a new family physician and residency program faculty member deeply committed to shaping the future of family medicine in Kansas. He is passionate about advocating for the specialty and strengthening its impact on the health and well-being of Kansans. Saffold said he sees service on the KAFP Board of Directors as a meaningful opportunity to help advance the field and ensure family medicine continues to thrive across Kansas.
