
Advocacy Committee (formerly the Governmental Affairs Committee)
Group Info
The role of the Advocacy Committee is to:
- Identify KAFP’s Legislative Priorities, in consultation with lobbyist and staff.
- Plan Advocacy Day program, serve as moderators, attend event.
- Plan Advocacy Training program for members.
- All committee members are expected to volunteer at least one day as FDOD during the legislative session.
- Testimony (sub-group of committee)
- Prepare written and oral testimony for KAFP to give.
- Identify sub-group of committee that serve as testimony presenters.
- Policy Writing (sub-group of committee)
- Research and draft policies that support KAFP Legislative Priorities when there is a need.
- Partner with Kansas Legislators to identify supporters to work with and introduce the policy.
- Champion KAFP drafted policy through the legislative process.
