Advocacy Committee (formerly the Governmental Affairs Committee)Group InfoThe role of the Advocacy Committee is to: Identify KAFP’s Legislative Priorities, in consultation with lobbyist and staff. Plan Advocacy Day program, serve as moderators, attend event. Plan Advocacy Training program for members. All committee members are expected to volunteer at least one day as FDOD during the legislative session. Testimony (sub-group of committee) Prepare written and oral testimony for KAFP to give. Identify sub-group of committee that serve as testimony presenters. Policy Writing (sub-group of committee) Research and draft policies that support KAFP Legislative Priorities when there is a need. Partner with Kansas Legislators to identify supporters to work with and introduce the policy. Champion KAFP drafted policy through the legislative process. Apply to the Advocacy Committee
