Kansas Exemplary Teaching Award

Award Information

These awards acknowledge KAFP members who deserve recognition for exemplary teaching skills, and individuals who have implemented outstanding educational programs and/or developed innovative teaching models in Medical Education. This award is presented in two different categories: Full-Time/Part-Time Faculty and Volunteer Faculty.

Eligibility:

  • Nominee must be a member of the KAFP in good standing and currently practice family medicine in the state of Kansas.
  • Full-Time/Part-Time Faculty: Full-time or part-time family physician who holds a regular faculty appointment and teaches and practices primarily in an academic setting.
  • Volunteer Faculty: A family physician who does not practice in an academic setting but engages in volunteer teaching activities.

Nomination Materials:

  • The letter of nomination should include a brief summary of the person’s contributions to academia and why the member deserves this award.
  • Nominee’s curriculum vitae.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
