Over the past few years, I have been honored to serve as a member of the Board of Directors and as one of your delegates for the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians and I hope that I can be entrusted by my peers to continue to serve as your Treasurer.

Throughout my time on the Board, I have been fortunate to be involved in many projects that have focused on helping our members. In just the past few years, we have continued to develop innovative projects focused on everything from helping members succeed in changing practice environments to cultivating resources to help all physicians improve wellness. Personally, I have learned a tremendous amount and am excited for what the future may hold.

The ability to dream big and pursue worthwhile projects focused on improving our communities, practices and serving our members is critical to the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians. Without sound fiscal policy and financial discipline, however, our organization is vulnerable. None of us know what big project, great opportunity or potential challenge lies over the horizon, yet all of us want the KAFP to be prepared to continue to be a leader in preparing and distributing resources, supporting members in sharing best practices and developing services that make the job of being a family physician just a little bit easier. The financial health of our organization is critical to guarantee that the KAFP can continue to ensure that family physicians have the resources needed to truly be the best physicians for their communities and patients.

Without a doubt, Todd Miller has done an outstanding job as treasurer. His attention to detail, dedication and vision have ensured that the KAFP is a leader among health care organizations. If elected as your treasurer, I will enthusiastically work to the best of my ability to ensure that the KAFP remains on a par toward greater financial stability and health. I believe that my past leadership experience affords me the skills needed to serve you well. I would welcome the opportunity to use my time and talents to continue to contribute to the work of the KAFP and ask for your consideration of my candidacy as Treasurer. Thank you.
