Faces in Family Medicine program Opportunity for Pre-med and Med students
KAFP-Foundation
Spread the word that the Faces in Family Medicine (FIFM) mentorship program is now accepting applications. This program provides medical and pre-med students the opportunity to see the many faces of family medicine through group mentoring activities and one-on-one mentoring.
Eligible students:
- Junior and Senior pre-med students at FHSU & PSU
- First and Second year medical students at KUMC Kansas City & Salina
Eligible mentors:
- All practicing KAFP members, residents included
Mentors will be paired with students to mentor throughout the academic year; they can communicate as much or as little as they wish, a minimum of four contacts is expected. KAFP will provide monthly “conversation starter” topics to keep communication engaging. Volunteers spend approximately one hour per month corresponding with their student(s). Group mentoring activities will be scheduled for each campus, more to come on those activities!
The ultimate goal is to expose students to the many different, energetic, vibrant, and authentic faces of family medicine, and promote the selection of family medicine as their specialty. Show your face in family medicine, volunteer to be a mentor!
