Winter 2024-2025 Member Spotlight
Dr. Arthur Windholz
Congratulations to Arthur Windholz, MD who has been honored with the KAFP’s Member Spotlight recognition for Winter 2024-2025. Windholz practices at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, KS and was nominated by Dr. Kevin Hoppock.
How many years have you been in practice?
I have been in practice for 35 years.
What do you find most rewarding about being a family physician?
It has been rewarding to watch families grow, deliver babies who grow up and have their own families, and now care for those adults who have entered their senior years.
How do you stay current with developments in the specialty of family medicine?
I stay current by reading Up-to-Date, and the AFP journal.
Please share a story of how your work has positively impacted a patient or the community.
I don’t have a specific story, but I found it very satisfying to deliver more than a few babies to women that I had delivered. I stopped delivering babies about 18 months ago.
If you weren’t a family physician, what career would you have chosen?
I considered pediatrics and obstetrics, but apart from being a physician I never thought of doing anything else.
