Wilderness Medicine for the Physician, led by Todd Miner, EdD, FAWM, will take place Friday, Oct. 9 through Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at East Bank on Mill Creek in Maple Hill, Kansas. This immersive course is designed for active members, resident members, and non-member physicians seeking hands-on training in wilderness medicine, with up to 16 CME credits available (pending AAFP approval). Cost is $750 for Active Members, $850 for Non-Member Physicians. We have limited spots for Residents with complimentary registration (*$100 refundable deposit following course completion).   • Over 2 hours of practice scenarios

An application for 16.0 CME credit will be filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.

Dr. Todd Miner retired in 2024 as Senior Instructor and Education Director for the Wilderness & Environmental Medicine Section at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Prior to Colorado he worked as a wilderness guide and outdoor educator for over 20 years in Alaska and served as the Executive Director of Cornell (University) Outdoor Education. Miner designed and/or taught wilderness medicine courses for medical students, physicians and health care professionals, undergrads, wilderness guides, and commercial fishers, wildlife rangers, and wildland firefighters. A highlight of his career was designing and teaching Wildland Firefighter First Aid for the US Forest Service’s Advanced Academies.
