2018 AAFP Health Equity Fellowship coming soon; Health is Primary Updates

The Family Medicine for America’s Health (FMAHealth) Health Equity Team and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) are excited to announce the development of a jointly sponsored inaugural Health Equity Fellowship program launching this fall. Two fellows will be selected to participate in a 12-month health equity fellowship aimed at developing family medicine physicians as leaders with subject matter expertise in the social, institutional and cultural influences that impact health. Here is an update on Health is Primary happenings:

  • Health is Primary hosted a panel on health equity at the AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students on August 2.
  • Health is Primary is sponsoring the Alliance for Health Policy’s series on Aging in America. The series will include a leader summit on October 10 and a congressional briefing on December 7 in Washington, D.C. Stay tuned for more information.
  • The focus in August is immunizations. You can download the monthly toolkit at Health is Primary.
  • New campaign videos are available on the value and cost effectiveness of primary care at Health is Primary.
