Mary Boyce, MD

Dr. Boyce attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her degree in Wichita. She then went to Wesley Family Medicine Residency for training and continues to work there as a faculty member. She has been associated with the Wichita family crisis shelter and has presented on topics of intimate partner violence throughout her career.

Gretchen Irwin, MD, MBA

Gretchen Irwin, MD, MBA currently serves as the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and ACGME Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and is an Associate Professor with Tenure in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Dr. Irwin graduated with honors from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, majoring in Biology and minoring in Political Science. She attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine completing her medical degree and an area of concentration in Women’s Health in 2005. Following medical school, she completed her residency at the University of Missouri Kansas City Family Medicine Residency where she concomitantly earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Rockhurst University. Dr. Irwin served as Chief Resident in 2008 and completed an Operative Obstetrics fellowship at the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2009. She also completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill in 2009. Dr. Irwin joined the faculty at the University of Kansas School of Medicine- Wichita in 2010 and has served in multiple educational roles including as the clerkship director for the required, third-year, family medicine clerkship, as program director for the University of Kansas School of Medicine- Wichita Family Medicine Residency at Wesley Medical Center and in her current role as Associate Dean and DIO. In 2023, she was the recipient of both the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians Exemplary Teacher Award and the American Academy of Family Physicians 2023 Exemplary Teaching Award for Full-time Faculty.

Samrah Mansoor, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Mansoor is a distinguished Board-Certified Family Physician with over twenty-five years of experience in clinical and administrative medicine. Dr. Mansoor’s expertise spans a breadth of experiences in inpatient and outpatient care, notably excelling as a Hospitalist for over a decade. As the Lead Hospitalist and Medical Director at Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, Missouri, she spearheaded innovative healthcare initiatives, setting new standards of excellence. She was awarded 417 Best Hospitalist award in 2008. Transitioning to Urgent Care in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Mansoor’s visionary leadership and tireless efforts bore fruit as she played a pivotal role in establishing a renowned Urgent Care facility within the community. Her outstanding contributions earned her prestigious accolades, including the esteemed “Physician of the Year” award, underscoring her exceptional dedication and impact. Jennifer Bacani McKenney, MD, FAAFP

Jennifer Bacani McKenney, MD, FAAFP, is a family physician in her hometown of Fredonia, Kansas, a community of approximately 2,200 people. She has owned and managed her practice Fredonia Family Care alongside her father and other great colleagues since 2009. McKenney was named the 2021 Rural Health Practitioner of the Year by the National Rural Health Association and received the “Early Career Achievement Award” by the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2021. She earned her medical degree at the KU School of Medicine in Kansas City and Wichita and completed her residency at Via Christi Family Medicine Residency in Wichita. McKenney is currently the Associate Dean for Rural Medical Education for the KU School of Medicine. She serves as the Wilson County health officer and is co-chair of the statewide Health Officers of Kansas group. McKenney was a member of the USD 484 school board, serving as the president for two years. She is a past President of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians and was the resident member of the AAFP Board of Directors. She serves on the board of directors for the Kansas Health Foundation and is on the medical staff at Fredonia Regional Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital. She has made numerous appearances on national and local news covering COVID-19 and rural health.

Krissi O’Dell, RN, BSN

Vaccine Update: Be Immune Kansas

Krissi O’Dell is the Immunization Nurse Educator for the Kansas Immunization Program under the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. She works within the Bureau to strengthen the immunization program by providing educational support to our vaccine providers within the state of Kansas. Krissi is a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of primary care experience as well as five years in public health. She completed her BSN at Pittsburg State University in 1998. Go Gorillas! During her years in primary care, she served as both the VFC Vaccine Coordinator and Back-up Coordinator. For the last 5 years, she has served in public health at both the local health department level and with KDHE. During her time at the health department, she worked with multiple programs to provide nutrition/health education, vaccinations, disease investigations, and emergency preparedness.

She was also the coordinator for the COVID-19 team that provided case management, vaccinations and testing for Crawford County. Krissi is a Kansas native and married to her husband, Eric, for 24 years. They have 2 adult sons, Kamryn (23), and Keatyn (21). Krissi is very passionate about vaccines, education, and empowering others through knowledge.

Mary Stolz, MSW

Mary Stolz, MSW, is the Executive Director of the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center. She holds a dual bachelors degree from Kansas State University in mass communications and women’s studies and earned a masters degree in social work from Wichita State University in 2013. Mary’s graduate school research on Creative Interventions with Sexual Violence Survivors was published in the British Journal of Social Work. Mary has been working in the anti-violence field and with survivors of sexual violence for the past 18 years. She has served as an advocate, the Director of Advocacy, and Executive Director at Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center. She also served as a Program Manager for the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center providing training and technical assistance to Kansas Law Enforcement on issues related to Sexual and Domestic Violence and Stalking.

Nicole Yedlinsky, MD, CAQSM, FAAFP, RMSK

Musculoskeletal Injections for Family Physicians in Clinic

Dr. Nicole T. Yedlinsky is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a subcertification in sports medicine. She is registered in musculoskeletal ultrasonography. She earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Womack Army Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Fairfax Family Practice as part of the National Capital Sports Medicine Consortium. She is the program director for the University of Kansas Sports Medicine Fellowship and core faculty for the Family Medicine Residency Program in Kansas City. She is the team physician for the NWSL KC Current soccer team.

Michael Falahat, MD

Dr. Michael Falahat is a Jordanian native who relocated to the United States at the age of 13. Dr. Falahat pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham before attending Ross University School of Medicine for medical education. He then completed my family medicine residency training at Via Christi Family Medicine Residency. Currently, Dr. Falahat is finishing his emergency medicine fellowship at SSM Health at Monroe Clinic in Monroe, Wisconsin. His passion for medical missions is Dr. Falahat’s main motivation and drive to excel and become the best physician he can be.


Joy Ogundare, MD, PGY3

Global Health: Journey to Angola

Dr. Joy Ogundare is from Vancouver, Canada. She did her undergrad training at Queen’s university in Ontario, Canada and then completed medical school at Saba School of Medicine. She has always loved to travel and to serve the underserved which lead to a passion for Global health. She has done trips to Cuba and Africa, and most recently travelled to Angola for a 4 week Global health elective in August 2023. In Angola, she worked with North American and Angolan doctors at a hospital called CEML. She participated in numerous surgeries, learned how to manage tertiary cases, and also developed skills in tropical medicine. She is currently in her 3rd year of Family Medicine at KU medical center. After graduation, she hopes to do a mix of clinic, tele health and urgent care when she moves back to Canada. Specifically working with underserved populations in the community, and eventually plans to do more global health trips.

Medical interests include international medicine, obstetrics, and procedural skills.


Isha Chaudhary, MD, PGY2

Dr. Isha Chaudhary grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada where she completed her Bachelor of Sciences at the University of Toronto-Mississauga. She is a current PGY2 Family Medicine resident at the University of Kansas Medical School (KUMC) and Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHCSEK). She hopes to have a combined practice of inpatient and outpatient medicine after completing residency.

Dr. Brittany Elliott is a PGY2 Rural Family Medicine Resident at The University of Kansas/CHCSEK. She grew up in a rural area of Ontario Canada, where she studied Neurobiology at Brock University. She continued in the field of Neurobiology at the University of Toronto, completing a Master of Science Degree. After graduate school, she journeyed to Saba University School of Medicine, where she completed her medical degree. After experiencing firsthand the disparities of health care in rural regions, especially those of women’s health, she plans to dedicate her career to combining her passion for women’s health with the complexities of caring for vulnerable populations.


Riley Gray, DO, PGY2

Childhood Obesity, a Rising Epidemic

Riley Gray is a second-year family medicine resident at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She grew up in Columbia, Missouri, and is the first in her family to go to medical school. Her undergraduate degree is from Missouri Western State University, and she completed medical school at A.T. Still University, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has always been interested in caring for the whole person and is passionate about full-scope family medicine. As part of her passion, she hopes to instill healthy habits to all of her pediatric patients to set them up for success later in life.

Dr. Khanh Hoang graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, followed by a Doctorate in Medicine from KU School of Medicine-Wichita. She has a strong passion for serving the underserved population and would like to incorporate international medicine in her future practice.


Candice Metzinger, MD, PGY1

Dr. Candice Metzinger is a current PGY-1 at the Wesley Family Medicine Residency. She is a Wichita native and obtained her first degree at The University of Kansas in Finance in 2011. After working several years, she returned to school to pursue medicine. She graduated from Wichita State University in 2017 with a bachelor’s in Biomedical Biology. She attended medical school at The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and graduated May 2023.

Dr. Luke Smith grew up in Topeka, KS. Luke was able to come back to Kansas for his Family Medicine training in Wichita with the University of Kansas at Wesley Medical Center. He has a passion for cerebral palsy and hospital medicine.

Dr. Gracie Swanberg is from Arvada, Colorado. She is now completing her residency training with Via Christi Family Medicine in Wichita, Kansas. Her primary interests include sports medicine, women’s health, and community medicine.

Landon Younger, DO and Walter Chrysler have something in common… being natives of Ellis, Kansas! Dr. Younger always felt that a career where he could help, teach, and learn would be the most rewarding one for him. His journey to becoming a physician started at Fort Hays State University and continued at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Younger especially enjoys preventative medicine and screening. His favorite thing about being a physician is exactly what his younger self imagined it would be – creating a positive impact. He wants potential patients to know that he, “wants to focus on whole patient health with their goals in mind.” When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Younger enjoys exercising, disc golf, watching TV, and reading fantasy novels. Fun Facts: He loves animals, The Office, and is a big Chiefs fan!
