AAFP Advocacy

AAFP Speak Out

Use your voice. Your words. Your story. AAFP makes it easy by providing pre-written letters to Congress, but feel free to edit and make your letter your own.  Use AAFP Speak Out to get informed on the issues that matter most to your patients and your practice, spread the word to your colleagues, and – most importantly – to express yourself to your federal and state legislators.

Grassroots Advocacy for Family Medicine

As a practicing family physician, you know what’s happening in health care. You live it every day.  But U.S. representatives and senators come from a variety of backgrounds and professions. Only a few are medical professionals, and even fewer are family physicians.

These lawmakers genuinely want to hear from you, so don’t let them make political decisions on important health care issues without your input.

AAFP wants to empower you to become actively involved. Use these resources to decide how you can participate, and take the meaningful step of lending your voice as either a member of the Family Physician Action Network or even as a Key Contact.

FamMedPAC

FamMedPAC is the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Political Action Committee. Its purpose is to help elect candidates to the U.S. Congress who support family medicine and AAFP’s legislative goals and objectives.  Through FamMedPAC you can support the election or reelection of Congressional candidates who share your commitment to family medicine.

Robert Graham Center

The Robert Graham Center for Policy Studies in Family Medicine and Primary Care conducts research and analysis that brings a family practice perspective to health policy deliberations in Washington. Founded in 1999, the center is an independent research unit working under the personnel and financial policies of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
