Faces in Family Medicine Program Seeks Volunteers

KAFP-Foundation

KAFP members are invited to volunteer to serve as a mentor in the Faces in Family Medicine (FIFM) mentorship program. This program provides medical and pre-med students the opportunity to see the many “faces of family medicine” through group mentorship activities and one-on-one mentoring.

Volunteer today to be a mentor!

Volunteers will be paired with students to mentor through the fall and spring semesters; they can communicate as much or as little as they wish, a minimum of four contacts is expected. KAFP will provide monthly “conversation starter” topics to keep communication engaging. Volunteers spend approximately one hour per month corresponding with their student(s). Group mentorship activities will also be scheduled, more to come on those activities!

The ultimate goal is to expose students to the many different, energetic, vibrant, and authentic faces of family medicine, and promote the selection of family medicine as their specialty. Show your face in family medicine, volunteer to be a mentor!
